We now have a centre at Belmont that you can attend to see a GP if your own GP cannot see you urgently.
You can be seen by a GP between 8am and 8pm seven days a week at:
The Belmont Health Centre, 516 Kenton Lane, Harrow, HA3 7LT
This is a ‘drop in service’ where you do not need an appointment. The GP that you see will send us the consultation notes that we can upload onto your medical record.
This is performed by the Practice Nurses. Please do attend regular asthma reviews to ensure optimal control of your symptoms.
This is performed by the Practice Nurse or Diabetic Specialist Nurse. It is important that all Diabetic patients attend regular reviews as control of Diabetes can prevent serious complications in the future.
Blood Pressure & Heart Disease Reviews
Our Practice Nurses will provide reviews for both these conditions in addition to seeing a Doctor. It is important that you attend regular appointments in order to minimise the risk of future complications including heart attacks and strokes.
All women under the age of 65 should have a cervical smear every three years. An appointment can be made with the Nurse, please book at Reception.
A free professional service is provided by local pharmacies participating in the ‘Harrow Stop Smoking’ programme including prescribing of nicotine replacement.

NHS Health Checks are being offered to people aged between 40 and 74 once every five years.
The check is to assess your risk of developing heart disease, stroke, kidney disease or diabetes. If there are any warning signs, then together we can do something about it.
By taking early action, you can improve your health and prevent the onset of these conditions. There is good evidence for this.
The check should take about 20–30 minutes and is based on straightforward questions and measurements such as age, sex, family history, height, weight and blood pressure. There will also be a simple blood test to measure your cholesterol level.
Following the check, you will receive free personalised advice about what you can do to stay healthy.
If you are interested, please call the Surgery on 020 8204 1363 to make an appointment.
Take a look at the leaflet listed below for more information about the NHS Health Check and how it could benefit you.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the Practice Nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

To help us offer the appropriate advice, please fill out the online form before coming to see the Nurse.
