We now have a centre at Belmont that you can attend to see a GP if your own GP cannot see you urgently.

You can be seen by a GP between 8am and 8pm seven days a week at:

The Belmont Health Centre, 516 Kenton Lane, Harrow, HA3 7LT

This is a ‘drop in service’ where you do not need an appointment. The GP that you see will send us the consultation notes that we can upload onto your medical record.

Repeat Prescriptions

In the interest of safety, we can only accept repeat prescriptions that have been authorised by a Doctor, Practice Pharmacist or Practice Nurse.

  • Your prescription will come with a computerised tear–off section listing the medicines you are permitted to request as a repeat prescription.
  • Use this counterfoil as a 'prescription request form' and tick those medicines which you require.
  • Hand in or post the request to us.
  • Alternatively register for online services and order via the link at the top of this page.

Please note: To minimise errors we are unable to accept telephone requests.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a Doctor, Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to future prescriptions.

Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

We now offer the facility to order your REPEAT prescriptions online via Patient Access. Please ask Reception for more details.

Also, we have the facility to send your prescriptions electronically to your nominated Pharmacy. Please speak to reception for more details or contact your chosen Pharmacy.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and do remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Request for Converting Specialist Private Prescription to NHS Prescription

In the interest of patient safety, please note that a private prescription cannot simply be converted to a NHS prescription. GPs take full legal and clinical responsibility for all prescriptions they sign. The Doctor must therefore make an assessment as to whether they feel competent to take on this responsibility since the patient has been clinically diagnosed by another  specialist healthcare professional - and so this takes extra time.

We therefore advise patients:

  • The private prescription request will be considered by a GP - it will not be issued automatically and the patient may be requested to come in for a face-to-face or telephone appointment with a GP. In this case, you will be contacted.
  • If the GP agrees, the prescription will be ready in three working days.
  • If you require the medication urgently, the private prescription can be dispensed at a Pharmacy which would incur a fee or purchase a smaller quantity following a consultation with the dispensing Pharmacist until you see a GP.

Hospital Outpatient Prescriptions

Hospital Outpatient prescriptions requests are not urgent and this is clearly stated on top of the hospital prescription form. As above for 'Requests for Converting Specialist Private Prescription to NHS Prescription', this will be considered by a GP and if the GP agrees should be ready in three working days.
