What can I do with the NHS APP?

Did you know that you don’t have to wait on the phone to speak to your GP surgery? Just like online banking, you can book appointments, look at your GP records and request repeat prescriptions all using the APP!

If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, owned and run by the NHS, the NHS App is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

  • Check your symptoms and get instant advice
  • Request a repeat prescription
  • Book and cancel appointments, see details of your upcoming and past appointments
  • Search for NHS information and advice on all conditions and treatments
  • Securely access your GP medical record
  • Choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision

  • Your NHS number+ or name
  • date of birth
  • postcode
  • A mobile phone and number

Who is it suitable for?

To use the NHS App you must be aged 13 or over and registered with a GP surgery in England

 

What sort of ID do I need to provide to get approved by the NHS app?

To access some websites and apps, you may need to provide some additional information to prove who you are. This is so the app is able to connect you to your NHS record and protect your health information.

This may include your:

• Date of birth.

• NHS number.

• Name.

• Postcode.

 

How long do I need to wait to be approved and verified on the app?

It takes less than 24 hours to approve your details, you will receive an email informing you that your documents have been accepted.
